August - Young Artist Chinese Dragon

Freya will demonstrate to our Young Artists how to paint this fabulous Chinese Dragon using gouache paint. You will learn how to draw this mythical beast, mix the gouache paint and how to apply it.

Chinese Dragons are powerful and well meaning symbols in Chinese culture. Dragons are everywhere in china and form part of legends, festivals, astrology, art and names. Dragons are seen as lucky and good, which is quite different to the evil, dangerous, fire-breathing dragons of most western stories. Most Chinese dragons' pictures have long bodies like snakes and sharp claws and they live at the bottom of seas, rivers, lakes, or anywhere with water.
